Cough Cough..

Time sure flies. I haven't been able to take a breather and blog for the past few weeks and I just read the last post CN- wrote about me not being able to expectorate, which in simple language means that I am not able to spit out my phlegm! I've always heard my brother clearing his throat and spitting out some goo into the sink every now and then. I think almost everyone knows how to do that. It's not something that is taught. One just naturally acquires the skill, am I right? Well, somehow or other, that part of my development was arrested :P "The best I can do is to get it up to the pharynx. Then it'll go into the oesophagus opening and I'll swallow it." Actually, I don't remember being so scientific. What I remember telling CN- was that the best I could do was to cough it up to the back of my throat and then swallow it. Another thing I could do was to transfer goo from my nose to my throat and to my stomach. Sounds disgusting? Well, guess I'd better close this topic of discussion. 3 weeks have passed, and I'm still coughing. The kiddy ward sure is a dangerous place to be in if your immune system is in the dumps. Too many late nights and excessive stress has lowered my resistance. Therefore, I guess I ended up picking up all the viruses from every sick, coughing kid in the ward whom I've clerked. Then again, at least I can blow my nose. CN- knows of a few individuals who can neither blow their nose nor expectorate...
